Working as a Homeopathic Physician & Clinical Herbalist, I use Nutritional Assessment, Iridology and observation of Physical Symptoms to determine the appropriate recommendations, which can include Nutritional therapeutics, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Colon Hydrotherapy, Bach Flower Remedies, or Aromatherapy.  A consultation involves going over all your symtpoms (physical, emotional) to find the appropriate remedy for you. Natural medicine is a system of integrated health care which incorporates clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle counseling, and the use of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to treat the patient holistically.  Homeopathic Physicians and Clinical Herbalists treat the underlying cause of disease rather than just the symptoms. This holistic approach allows the patient to truly heal from within and thus prevents chronic syndromes from developing.

Initial Consultation

The initial appointment will last approx. 1 - 1 1/2 hours. I will ask you to bring in a 3 day food diary, which will include 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day) as well to go over any nutritional aspects needing attention. We will go over your intake form and I will take a complete history which includes your physical, emotional and mental state. I will use the information you provide and observations of your physical symptoms to analyze the case.  I will also perform any related physical exams including blood pressure.  I am here to help and listen. At this point, I will most likely need some time to analyze the information. We will schedule your second appointment at this time for approx. 5-7 days where we will go over together your treatment plan (which can include Homeopathic or Herbal remedy, any necessary supplements, Reflexology or Reiki session, etc.).

Second Visit

A second visit is usually scheduled one week after the initial visit to discuss the complete treatment program. This allows me time to thoroughly assess the case and to give it the special attention that it requires, in order to allow for a more accurate and personalized program.

Follow-up Visit

Follow-up appointments are book as necessary to assess your progress and take about 30-45 minutes. Here we will evaluate how the remedy has been working for you and make any changes that are necessary. At this time you should advise me of any new symptoms that may have come up since the last appointment. This will allow me to see the progress we are making.   Homeopathic consultation for an acute condition (e.g. flu, urinary tract infection, headache, food poisoning, ear infection, colic, fever, sprains, bruises, cuts, etc.) takes approximately 20

30 minutes. The homeopath will ask questions pertaining to the specific condition, and some questions about the persons general mood, sleep, appetite and so on.

Colon Hydrotherapy Session

Prior to your session you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire which will inform your Colon Therapist about your current health status and any concerns you may have. Your Colon Therapist welcomes your questions, and will ensure that any question is answered to your satisfaction.

When you arrive at the Centre, your Colon Therapist will explain how the passive gravity colonic method works, and every step of the process will be covered in detail. Except for the brief moments that allow for the insertion of the proctoscope, you will be completely covered.

Throughout your session, your Colon Therapist takes care to ensure that you feel relaxed and comfortable. An entire colonic session lasts one hour, during which time your Colon Therapist and youwill have the opportunity to discuss matters related to your eating habits, digestion, and overall health.

You will be given pertinent feedback based on your Colon Therapist's observations, and you will gain useful information for maintaining or improving your health. After your session, you are likely to feel light and refreshed and have a greater sense of well-being.

Frequency of Colonics

While each person is different both in their needs and responses, it is generally advisable to begin with a series of 6 colonics, 4-7 days apart. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, water acts as a solvent to soften and break up encrusted waste; as colonics is a gentle therapy, this process must be repeated in order to allow the water to fully saturate hardened fecal matter, and to permeate areas where accumulation or blockages have occurred. Secondly, restoring the shape and muscle tone of the colon requires that the colon be exercised over a period of time, in much the same way as any other muscle would require a regular workout to keep it strong and toned.

The benefits of colonics can be accelerated and intensified by taking a soluble fibre supplement throughout the course of a series. Soluble fibre adds bulk to fecal waste, causing it to swell and push against the wall of the colon. As mentioned earlier, pressure exerted against the colon wall provokes the colon to contract, propelling waste along the bowel. Many people lack sufficient fibre in their diet, resulting in an inability or inconsistent ability for the colon to form stool of a normal size and shape that can be easily passed. Fibre also acts as a potent cleanser, attracting encrusted waste and absorbing mucus and debris which lacks the substance to form into stool.

Once the initial cleansing has taken place, receiving colonics on a regular basis is helpful to prevent illness and maintain good health. Undergoing a series of colonics during a change in season, particularly in the spring and fall, is especially beneficial.
